How do I prepare my yard waste for collection?

  • Stack your yard waste in a pile 5' (feet) long by 5' (feet) wide by 10' (feet) deep. Each week this size pile will be picked up.

  • Cut tree limbs and branches no more that 5' (feet) in length,  8" (inches) in diameter and weigh no more than 40 pounds.

  • You do not have to wrap your limbs and/or branches with twine.

  • Bag all your leaves, pine straw, pine cones, grass clippings, shrubbery clippings, tree trimmings, other vegetative matter generated from maintenance of your yard. Please use strong bags enough so they will not break when picked up.

  • Yard waste must be kept separate from other trash.

  • Yard waste should be placed within 5' (feet) from your trash can and recycling bin, but not around stationary objects such as mailboxes, fences, parked vehicles, or utility poles or meters.

  • Do not place yard waste in center medians, islands, or other public property.

  • Yard waste collection is provided to residential households only. Tree trimmings and cutting debris created by private companies (landscaping, tree removal companies) and/or contractors (private or commercial) must be removed by the company.
